This 4-week Beginners Sewing Boot Camp is a friendly, hands-on crash course in sewing machines,
mending, pattern-reading, and making something you’ll actually use. It includes practical skills,
plenty of encouragement and the confidence to keep sewing long after the course ends.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this 4-week beginners sewing boot camp, participants will be able to:
● Confidently set up, use, and maintain a domestic sewing machine
● Select and use basic stitches and troubleshoot common sewing issues
● Carry out essential clothing repairs, including patching, hemming, and replacing buttons or
snaps
● Understand and interpret commercial sewing patterns, including sizing, symbols, and
instructions
● Cut fabric accurately and follow a pattern to construct a simple sewn item
● Complete a reusable fabric ‘paper bag’ and feel confident to tackle future sewing projects
independently
Novice/beginner or those who want a refresher. Recommended age 16+
– Fee must be paid before the course start date unless a prior arrangement is made
