Over 4 weeks, participants will design and sew their very own fabric paper bag skirt with pockets using their own pattern
Sewing machines and fabric provided
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this 4-week beginners sewing boot camp, participants will be able to:
â—Ź Confidently operate a sewing machineâ—Ź Cut fabric accurately using a simple pattern
â—Ź Sew straight and curved seams and manage seam allowances
â—Ź Add pockets
â—Ź Form a waistband and add elastic
â—Ź Hem and add decorative final touches
Lesson Plan:
â—Ź Week 1 – Introduction. Take body measurements & design skirt. Measure and cut fabric
â—Ź Week 2 Sew main parts together, including pockets
â—Ź Week 3 – Make waistband and add elastic
â—Ź Week 4 – Hem and add some decorative final touches.
Novice/beginner or those who want a refresher. Recommended age 16+
