Spotswood College

The third of our ethnic cooking series workshops. Our tutor Olena Williams along with guests will cover different flavours and dishes from a range of different cultures. For workshop two we cover the popular Thai Salad – Som Tam.

Step into the vibrant world of Thai flavours with this hands-on Som Tam–inspired class, using crisp
carrot and juicy mango for a fresh, accessible twist. You’ll learn key shredding and grating
techniques to create the perfect texture, then build a bold dressing from scratch by balancing lime,
fish sauce, sweetness, and chilli heat to your taste. Along the way, we’ll explore how to control spice
levels while keeping that signature punch, and how to adapt the dish for different occasions. Bright,
zesty, and full of contrast, this class is a delicious way to sharpen your skills and energise your
cooking.

For ages 10 and up

For safety we ask that any children under 15 are accompanied by a parent.
