He kaiako ipurangi mo te hunga e hiahia ana ki te ako i Te Reo Māori.
No Te Awa o Whanganui, no Ngāti Porou me Nga Puhi ahau.
My name is Misty Harrison and I come from Whanganui, Ngāti Porou and Ngā Puhi.
I have been teaching Te Reo Māori for over 17 years to all year groups from Primary School through to University and Wānanga Students, ranging between 5 – 90+ years of age.
My teaching experiences have taken me to share our beautiful language within total immersion and bi-lingual settings to teaching first time learners of Te Reo Māori. I love teaching and sharing Te Reo Māori with people who love to learn and honour our language. Feeling safe and comfortable to learn and grow is my number one priority for first time Māori language learners.
Te Reo Māori is part of my identity, part of the identity of Aotearoa and its culture. And I am honoured to spread the beauty of our language with all peoples of New Zealand. I am currently in the process of building my own small business called Palm 2wenty 2wo which will launch at Christmas, 2024. I love to travel, be with family and friends, adventure and I love all of my Marae.
